My wife is pregnant with identical triplets

Just found out they are boys. Since this happens every 1 in a million pregnancies, I feel like I shouldn't waste this blessing. Should I Todd Marinovich them and create superstar athletes? Wat do?

Congrats. I hope you're rich.

never lose your emotional control ... because in order to help the ones you care about you really don't have to show that you care about them but always provide them a bit of motivation along with clear steps in different directions (flexibility) without your personal emotional baggage... practically you can do this by taking a few seconds before you say/do anything and DO NOT let the cortisol (stress hormone) take over

always remember .... you are not them and they are not you NOR do they reflect what kind of a person you are or vice-versa .... as for when they are young a lot awareness and/or independence can provide them with an emotional overload which lead to a poor prefrontal cortex development (white matter over grey matter) ... so let them take responsibility step by step .... as for their education use of bit of Khan Academy and a bit of personal guidance if you control your fatigue and emotions (emotional suppression and control are two VERY different things -- control involves accepting the situation at hand and doing the best you can without emotional involvement but with all the emotional consideration/empathy without letting it cloud your judgement)

go to a psychologist to confront your state of mind and any issues that you might have.. it just might give your kids a chance to have brilliant role model in their father

guide them but let them make their own decisions... asking a kid a simple question such as 'What do you think you should do?' goes a long way, provided you make sure they use their logic and analyze a situation the best they can, you can do this by making them check all the facts and potential results of their actions ... and enjoy being a parent when the going gets stuff usually around their teens and your 40s ... Hormonal stuff... key hormonal ages post 11, post 19, post 26, post 40 ... you will enjoy being a parent if you love solving problems and overcoming challenges ... check your MBTI and Big 5 Personality Trait

i might sound preachy ... but what i say is based on direct and indirect experience ... good luck being a dad

Thanks for the writeup Qureshi. I find myself even mellowing out now, even though the kids aren't here yet. I'm scared that fatigue will get to me, but I have an awesome support group.

Wouldnt three different sports cost a lot of money? lol

not necessarily .... soccer, basketball, football ... should be cheap cause a kid can learn to dribble and train for agility, speed, etc without training camps plus the only equipment you need is an open space and a ball... for strength training start buying kettlebells/other equipment slowly one at a time and make sandbags for now.. learn to train yourself experiment different training styles and then help ur kids out when they reach that age ... but they can be anything they want to be lawyers, accountants, athletes, etc.. letting them choose their careers AND tickling the crap out of em when they misbehave are two of the best things that will ever happen to em... dont wake up for school on time? tickle em, not doing chores? tickle em, not doing homework? tickle em, not sleeping on time? tickle em and so on... fear and laughter at the same time .. also another constructive punishment: exercise - running a lap or crunches or doing push ups (but no sit ups - bad for a kid's lower back) with three kids at the same age it will create an ultimate competitive drive between em provided it isn't over done .. just my two cents

I would teach one to pitch left handed, one to long snap or punt, and probably make the last one hit the books, in case all else fails.

Perfect opportunity for a magic show. Dress em the same and teleport them around the room.

Nice, I come back from Wolf of Wall Street to some really awesome suggestions! I don't think I'm going to push them to act... I really don't like publicity and attention. I think having each other to lean on will definitely be a strength, but I also want to ensure they all have their own identities. So I will NOT be dressing them the same, and will go out of my way to ensure they will be able to pursue their own interests.

I love watching football ,but I don't think I would want my kids to play it... too dangerous! I'm thinking hockey and lacrosse
