Think it really depends on your standing within the firm. If you're a rain maker, I'd do the transplant and WFH / wear a hat ZFG. Assuming you're not...

Ideally, you could do it between jobs during garden leave.

An alternative would be to take vacation for the surgery and wear a light hairpiece during the healing / scabbing time. Then gradually lose the hairpiece once your hair starts to regrow. I honestly don't think anyone will really care or remember after a year, everyone is too busy with their own life. Your wearing a hairpiece, is not a big deal. If your hairline is so bad, that you need a hair transplant in your 20s/30s, I think most people will understand.

The only real consideration I'd have would be your standing with your MD / who you report into, and what they'll think.

Take a week off using vacation. Then say you are sick at WFH following week. Thats what I did. Firm was relaxed with having zoom camera on vs off so made it easier. Short hair obviously makes this easier. If you have longer hair. Maybe shorten it up for a couple months prior to surgery so people are used to the look. No one in my life knows I had the surgery other than barbers who can easily tell.

Did you go to Turkey?

Go to Turkey and do a 7-10 day vacation including your procedure. Istanbul and Bodrum are great places to visit.

Shave your head and grow a beard. You don't need a hair transplant any more than girls need filler.
