So my buddy has accepted a summer offer at Middle Market bank for IB. He's got a crystal clean record until last week when we were at Spring Break (Daytona Beach). Long story short he was stopped by an ABC officer for holding a beer. He then was not physically arrested, but given a "Notice to Appear" for "Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage by a person under 21".
After reading his paper, he's got 2 options: 1. Request a court date and go to court 2. pay a $300 fine within 30 days and apparently its off his record
He's looking for advice because pre-employment is coming up in early April. (I'm assuming its a Drug Test and Background Check).
Biggest thing is will this event show up when pre-employment is launched. He was told it wouldn't be on his record, but I've heard that if you look deep enough, you can find almost anything that has happened to someone. It would suck to have some sort of issue come up from such a petty offense.
My buddy is freaking out, so any advice for him would probably go a long way LOL.
I think your "buddy" should just pay the fine ASAP and forget about it.
