Need MBA Student Status For Internship

I am trying to do a career switch into finance. I am looking at barebones entry level "accounting" jobs and a 30% paycut but am not having any luck.

My GENIUS idea is to sign up for an a traditional MBA or iMBA to claim student status and apply for an internship. I will take a real course while working, get the internship in finance or consulting, and then drop the fake MBA. I plan on getting an MBA for actual self-development and networking eventually but I need the job to make it worth it first.

The internship can be in finance, accounting, or consulting. I know what I need to do to navigate to where I want to be from either of those positions.

Does anyone know of any MBA programs that are budget friendly for the purpose of this plan?

I know it sounds stupid but I need to fight stupid, entry-level job requirements with stupid.

I am serious about this. I don't know what else to do.

Well besides University of Phoenix online, DeVry, and a few of the other obvious ones.... depending on if your undergrad alma mater has an MBA program, those are typically very easy to get into.....

This is a clever idea but there are usually background checks before the internship and another confirmation once you graduate to make sure that you are enrolled/have graduated. Don't think any internships will let this slide, you'd need to verify graduation to start full time at the company.

What are you doing now and what was your undergrad background? Plenty of corporate finance jobs (Fortune 500 companies and the like) that don't require an MBA and can move up that ladder.
