Networking with frat alumni as a pledge

I pledged a frat last semester; we got through the majority of pledgeship, but then we got sent home due to COVID. Now, we won’t be initiated until the fall. A recent alumnus of the fraternity works at a firm I intend to apply to; how should I go about introducing myself to him? I’m not technically a brother yet and don’t want to spend a few paragraphs to explain the situation, but saying “Hi, I’m a pledge” seems like a bad move
