Apple aren't idiots, what could you want that extra inch of screen length for?
It's a big gamble, all accessories from before are now redundant (check the port sizes).
Just looks out of proportion. Could it be a status thing so people know you have the new one and not confuse a 3 and a 4 with it?

I really don't understand the point of making the screen taller. If anything, they should have made it wider or generally bigger (wider & taller)

Screen is 4" but the entire phone will be much less of a size increase (maybe half a centimetre taller). I agree that it should NOT be made wider - human thumbs have no greater reach than they did 5 years ago so why should screens be any wider. Those Samsung giants are just silly.
Its a pretty solid upgrade with much faster internals, probably an A6 1GB processor, almost certainly LTE technology while maintaining same battery life (1400-1450mAh). NFC is unlikely but expect some great features in Passbook for payments. If there is LTE then I expect we will see a 720p front-facing camera with something like 2-3 megapixels, as well as a 10-12 mpx Sony camera on the back.
The headphone connector is also being moved to the bottom which really will be problematic for accessory makers. Apple will be selling an adaptor though (expect $25-30) but you will still need to repurchase accessories I reckon.
Battery life will get crushed with one that small. 12mp camera and 720p front seem a bit extreme. Probably 8-10mp 1080p. Headphone connector on the bottom is great, have it on my phone its a great feature.
They're using more efficient in-cell technology for the screen as well as shrinking die sizes on chips to 32nm so I expect battery life to be the same as the 4S if not better - i.e. still better than almost every Android phone out there!

Apple woulda sued the fuck outta that kid if it was real. You know how anal apple is about keeping their products secret. No way apple lets a prototype leak on youtube.
The iPhone 4 had a preeeeetty massive leak. All that happened was that the website it was first on (forget the name) had to take the content down. By the time they did, photos and video was all over the internet.
That said, I do think this is real, but with one or more prototype parts (the back is probably not the real thing, and neither is the screen). In fact, the whole thing may be a prototype case solely to evaluate hardware.
It's not a prototype - its a mockup designed from leaked parts.
