New Outlook.com Email Addresses

Microsoft just released their outlook.com email service that completely revamped the horrible hotmail.com / live.com services. Its completely newly built from the ground up. And i got two words: Simply beautiful. Its just completely professional looking now.

Already reserved my [email protected] and [email protected]. I failed to get my [email protected] though..

You guys should go ahead and reserve your emails. fast. Especially if your name is John Smith.

Since Gmail is already used by a lot of people as contact information on their resumes, I was wondering if outlook.com would be more professional than say hotmail, live, or yahoo? Outlook as a brand itself definitely has a professional ring to it.

You do realize you just asked how professional the @.....of an email is?

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Yeah.. But I wouldn't really want a @facebook, @hotpop, or a @gawab on my resume anywhere or on someones contact list.

double.

About time. Is this what Office 2013 looks like?

Anacott_CEOI use live.com and do not see a difference whatsoever.
You need to sign out and go to outlook.com. The Hotmail and Live inboxes still sport the old look. No idea why Windows insists on branding itself with three different domains that serve similar yet dissimilar purposes.

Will I be able to use this interface from here on out with live.com or will I need to get an outlook.com address?

You can stay with live.com and use the new interface. But, if you read one of the emails they send you when you try to login with your @live address, you can register a new @outlook.com address and still retain your old @live address for receiving mail.

I managed to get [email protected]... a surprise, as my name is fairly common (firstlast was taken, unfortunately).

SECfinanceJust got [email protected]... Will probably never use it because I prefer GMail but whatever. Fuck everyone else with my name.

Why not just set your outlook so that all the emails forward to your gmail. Best of both worlds, you can give your [email protected] to people/write it on your resume and read it on your gmail account.

My GMail name is lastname.firstname and I still have a school email address so it doesn't really matter to me.
