I will obviously nominate myself. My narcissistic nature prevents anything else.

Follow the shit your fellow monkeys say @shitWSOsays Life is hard, it's even harder when you're stupid - John Wayne

try to focus some of the "best XXXX of the year" things on actual finance, not AMAs but people discussing, for example, capital structure or valuation.

"After you work on Wall Street it’s a choice, would you rather work at McDonalds or on the sell-side? I would choose McDonalds over the sell-side.” - David Tepper

Category suggestion: Most prestigious "what is the most prestigious?" thread of the year

Category suggestion: Most self-incriminating post of the year

Category suggestion: Thread that added the most value to my professional career

Category suggestion: Thread that most changed the way I see the investment banking profession

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

Disjoint DickFuld:

Category suggestion: Best drunken and/or irate comment

DickFuld best impersonator of the year. Alone in that category but deserves an award none the less for relentlessly sticking to the script

That's like giving Hilary Clinton an award for impersonating a female..

It may be hard to believe, but neither of us are deserving of this type of award.

Quoting @"JohnBrohan" :

I want a job and go to a great school and work hard. Also, these types who play games with prospects are hurting the economy as unemployment is still to high among younger people. Also, whatever happened to kindness, compassion, considerateness, you know, the things that make this world continue to be worthwhile? How would they like it? This isn't like I'm someone without any merit: I have the ingredients and want the respect that I showed them reciprocated.

This should be nominated for comment of the year, or alternatively "economic theory of the year" or "life: what really matters" or even "recipe for deserving respect"

Not trying to be a dick, this comment is genuinely gold

Or "Why do bad things happen to good people" thread of the year.

@andylouis

My suggestion would be to highlight some of the comments and threads that generated the most SBs and comments. Same thing with users over the past year. I think you guys have that sorted somewhere. People are starting to highlight comments from this week, which recency bias suggests are not likely to be the best of the year.

Always start with the data.

I'll second (or 3rd or whatever) @"thebrofessor" / @"DickFuld" for WSO users of the year.

Also that @"JohnBrohan" comment deserves recognition no matter what category it is for.

This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..
