It’s a great watch. Things to consider:

1) it’s 42mm just make sure that feels fine on your wrist (should for most people)

2) it’s a manual wind, so just remember you’ll have to wind it daily (or whenever you wear it)

3) “purists” prefer the Hesalite as that is what was used on all watches that went to space, but the hesalite doesn’t have the sapphire crystal on the back so you can’t see the movement.

4) there are so many different models/versions/limited editions, so make sure you find the one you like (I.e. the snoopy is impossible to get)

Other than that, I am a big fan of omegas and think they make great watches.

You have many options in that range, but it looks like you are more interested in a “sporty” watch vs something a bit more dressy. Is that right?

I would normally highly recommend IWC (portugieser) , JLC (master control) and Glashutte Original at that price. I personally think Glashutte is a great deal, although they’ve been getting more expensive lately. But all of these are a bit different in style than the omega.

Anyway, if you are like me, this won’t be your last watch, so you’ll have time to collect many more…

I have one and wear it every day.  I went with the Sapphire crystal because I liked the clarity and clear back.  Brand new it comes with a nice stainless bracelet, NATO strap, and a useless astronaut strap, but I've been wearing it for years with a cheap velcro strap.  I wanted a nice, understated watch that I could wear with a suit, jeans, and gym shorts and that's what it has been.  Manual winding is, admittedly, a pain...
