One Week Off Before New Role

Sup people, I gave my notice yesterday and will be moving from M&A to Corporate FP&A at a tech company here in Austin. Much better role, pay, benefits, you name it. I wanted to get your opinion as far as what to do in a week as I will be completely off during that time before I start my new role. Somethings that come to mind: 1. Visit my top five coffee shops in town and read/use laptop 2. Run 3-4 miles every day. MAybe work out twice 3. Hit a couple of breweries 4. Any other recommendations? Thanks!

You have a whole week, i'd travel for sure! At the very least do some adventury stuff like the hog-hunting, backpacking, camping. Even smaller outings with friends, or a girlfriend, like an aquarium, ice skating, whatever, Texas is fucking huge, anything will be more fulfilling than extra exercise or a coffee shop

yeah i agree, that's all shit you can do while working. go somewhere cool and try some new experiences. start the job strong with cool stories to tell and a good energy about you

Damn, one week is nothing.

The travel idea is cool, as are your other ideas... Given that the time is short, the one thing I would think as a theme might be "what can I do locally that I would not normally be able to do or have yet to do?" There are lots of daytime activities during the week that are much better to do than on weekends when it is swamped....

Good Luck

I used to do Asia-Pacific PE (kind of like FoF). Now I do something else but happy to try and answer questions on that stuff.

get a girl and take a road trip to new orleans. a week is plenty of time. i road tripped through canada and NYC from Chicago with a bunch of stops along the way in like 9 days 5 or so years ago.
