Pay Roll

Heard this happen at an infamous company back in 2001.....

When a bunch of people were let go they were not taken off the pay roll and contuined to get paid every two weeks for months. The person who was suppose to remove them from the pay roll was laid off much sooner and was not able to get to everyone. Since the firm could not catch it and no one picked them up the company they got to keep the money.

Fast forward 2008...

this happen to me at my company!!!!

I would advice on not spending the money (except the US operates differently to UK), at a previous firm a few people continued to receive a salary for months after leaving.

Needless to say, the firm threathen legal action and made effective plans to recover the cash

So the company went belly up but you're still getting paid. How does that happen?
