Petition For Geopolitics Forum

Just curious to see how many others are interested in a geopolitics forum on WSO. I think this will increase the amount of geopolitical discourse that we have on the site as well as not cause spillover into the nonsense that is usually posted in monkeying around. Pakistani VS Indian girls = not geopolitics ;)

By the way, Monkeying Around is perfectly capable of handling all your geopolitical discussions

I agree with DM. Monkeying Around isn't exactly a high volume forum right now. Take out the politics threads and it will pretty much die. We all know where to go for our geopolitical needs, no need to create an entirely different forum.

At least they can't burn the beer

Not to derail, but does anyone else think its odd that all of the top ten chefs in the world are men?

No, being a chef is primarily male-dominated. It's a high intensity environment, and very few women (until recently) have been involved in it. Some people consider it to be one of the most gender-unequal areas out there. Look at Daniel Boulud, and then look for a comparable female chef. Even the ones on Food Network don't work as executive chefs at 5-star restaurants.

No, men are better at everything, even the things women spend their lives doing. Burn.

And the sexual revolution worked in mens favor - now women bring in another paycheck, and take workout classes based around strip pole dancing! Plus men don't have to make any farce at interest in women/relationships with women to have the opportunity at having sex with them (one night stand).

OT but completely agree. http://blogs.wsj.com/juggle/2011/09/07/what-carol-bartz-sallie-krawchec…

Actually, we can consolidate 90% of the crap political discussions into a Liberal V Conservative forum. There's very little ACTUAL geopolitical discussion outside of the GOP v Dem mindset and very industry specific topics. One of the few posters taking on real subjects in this area is oilprice, but he's a socialist and so I have to dismantle his arguments point by point for fun :/

No!

Also, why can't you just keep the geopolitical shit in monkeying around? Explain to me why you NEEED a new sub forum.

^^agree with that

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Read my lips: No new (sub) forums!

Entirely unnecessary. All the geopolitical topics end up under 'Hot Topics' anyways, so it's pointless.

Exactly. I don't think I've missed many, despite the fact that I come here only once a week, simply because they always linger in the Hot Topics for 10 days.
I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

make ya OWN damn forum to veto it. i think it will cause it to be talked about more often and in more depth rather than just whatever the hot topic is

and if you want to talk about other forums that could get combined can get rid of the get a job and just have people do the job hunt in the other forums under the respective field -- which is how it works now anyways.
