Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine
After the US announcement of a potential $2bn purchase of the vaccine if successful, would love to hear monkey’s expert opinions on the outlook of potential success of the prospective trials, especially vis-à-vis AZ/Oxford and Moderna vaccines.
Positive preliminary results alongside Pfizer’s announcement that they expect the vaccine to be profit-making will probably result in hikes in Pfizer’s stock price. The RNA used seems to set up a nice platform for further potentialities if the four proposed are not successful too so offering less downside in terms of sunk r&d.
I'm hoping this one gets approved shortly after Oxford's, if it does I'll probably wait for this if possible. Not only did they produce better immunity than Oxford's, but the first RNA vaccine would be a huge breakthrough.
Understanding that a mRNA vaccine would be the first of its kind, what are the potential risks? I haven’t taken a bio class since my first year of high school but mRNA sounds like it’s manipulating your genes or something and that generally sounds sus lol. Bio boys wya on this?
good question, interested as well.
