Point me towards the night life

New to NYC. Went out to stone st in the financial district this weekend and, while it was fun, it was pretty dead and almost completely dead by 10:30PM… It seemed like more of a late dinner crowd. I didn’t think it would be that bad so I was a bit surprised. n=1 though.

Any recommendations? Anything within 15-20 minutes to FiDi is fair game. I have some time to kill to check some places out.

Thanks

West village. You can google bars but 6th/7th avenue is always packed. Think Employees only, Spainard, Happiest Hour, Fiddlesticks, the Garrett etc. Assuming you are fairly young these are all within a few min walk of each other. Your issue will be very long lines and really packed venues. You're right that Fidi is dead at night - WV on a weekend you can wait in line for an hour so be prepared

East village is also a good spot but less packed together like the WV hot spots, you can walk quite a bit between bars so I'd have a destination if going

Lol I must have forgotten back half of my sentence.. was saying they are kind of a young crowd, someone in their 30s might feel like they're in the wrong spot.. but also within a few min walk

although the current sentence works out too :)
