Possible to get in and out of UK post 8 June?
As per the title: would it be possible for someone to travel into the UK from another European country and leave after, for example, 5 days given the quarantine rule effective as of June 8th? Or would it be necessary to quarantine for 14 days before being allowed out of the country again?
My understanding is that you'd be allowed to go back to your home country after the 5 days - i.e. they would not stop you at the airport on the way back home.
Any thoughts?
Sorry why 8th of June? I was planning on travelling out on 4th of June - is there some rule that says you can't? Thank you!
UK Gov have said if you arrive on/after June 8th you have to isolate for 14 days.
Thanks - just read that on www.gov.uk too. So weird though - i thought with time the restrictions will be more relaxed...So essentially I will be forced to self-isolate for 2 weeks upon returning to the UK.

Passengers arriving in the UK will be required to fill out an online locator contact form - providing details of where they will spend their 14 days in self-isolation. The Home Office said the proposed accommodation will need to meet necessary requirements, such as a hotel or a private address with friends or family. There will be a fine of £100 for failure to complete the form, and the Border Force will have the power to refuse entry to non-UK citizens who do not comply with the new regulations. New arrivals will be told they may be contacted at any time during their quarantine and, in England, may be visited by public health authorities conducting spot checks.
In England, a breach of self-isolation would be punishable by a £1,000 fixed penalty notice, or prosecution and an unlimited fine for persistent offenders.
Interesting well this fucks up some interviews - The fine isn't too bad - but don't want to be an asshole putting others at risk, despite this being an artificial impediment implemented on June 8 vs June 7.
Are there any in person interviews going on now?
