[Rant] Pet Peeves that Piss Me Off

RANT #1: CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE

Can I just say that the number of crappy corporations that don't offer no goddamn music while I wait to speak to a rep is mindboggling. Who the hell thought it was a smart idea to not only create a constant wave of white noise, but banks, on top of that, interrupt the music to promote their useless goddamn services at worst possible moment to upsell a customer.

Seriously, if I'm pissed and frustrated at the company, what drunken industry professional thought that this would be the ideal time to promote voice authentication services or some other bullsht credit card?

And of course, you can't silence the damn phone, leave a callback number or any feasible solution outside of having your phone in charge for 40 minutes or so to get a hold of a rep. And that's IF the rep doesn't "accidentally" slip his finger and end the call because he senses you have a long intricate question and he gets paid for client responses answered, not depth of service. I will never forget the 4-6 hour intermittnent hold in contacting this one insurance company for a process breakdown in transferring my passive investments out of their firm. Throughout the wait times, the reps "slipped their hands" twice, their chat service disconnected me once I arrived to the front of the queue and it wasn't until much later I had anyone on the phone who could give me some basic f*cking support services.

RANT #2: HOURS OF OPERATION

The next thing I find ridicoulously stupid is how government facilities and service professionals have not once thought to operate in the evenings when the majority of us are at least a little free. I tried calling this one dentist office to find out that they ended at 4:00 PM. Why did I wait? I was in back to back called until then. Seriously, you would think if your entire business is dependent on working proefssionals, you would piece together to offer morning calls (at like 8am instead of when they open, 10 am) or evenings so I can actually arrange a goddamn visit.

I'm convinced that the majority of these firms don't want my business given how sh*ttly they handle the slightlest inquiries or requests. It shouldn't take me repeatedly dialing a doctor, a dentist, or customer service rep to GIVE THEM my business.

I can think of at least three bad encounters with Airlines selling seats they don't have, offering carry-on baggage at a crazy mark up for each way, Banks forcing you to unusual torture by listening to their automated voices promoting their sht products, and pretty much every government office being closed at non-peak hours in a goddamn 8:00 am to 5:00 PM window on weekdays.

It's so crazy that just finding someone to speak to within 30 minutes is considered fantastic customer service in the modern economy

tl;dr - FG is pissed at customer service reps and hours of operation for random stuff.
