Reading PDF's

I'm a university student looking for some advice on reading the pdf files that are piling up on my desktop, figured a place like WSO would be perfect. So the thing is, all my classes have some large pdf files that I have to read, some of them 400 pages long. Would anyone have some advice on how to read them in the most comfortable way? Because of the length and amount, printing is not an option. Right now I started reading them on my laptop but I feel there is a better way. E-reader? Tablet?
