Real world math and statistics problems

Hi, i am a college senior and i wanted to know if any of you could provide some insight into what it is like to work real world problems in finance. What i mean is, how do you apply statistics and math in a day to day basis.

If you cannot share any insight, is there any website that you could recommend so i´d find real world math and statistics problems applied to finance? This may sound like a silly question, but i cannot find any ACTUAL finance scenarios in any math websites.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. this is a question for working professionals only.

This varies across finance disciplines.

In banking, the math is 99% arithmetic - the trick is understanding the underlying meaning of all the jargon so you know what to add together when, and why dividing one number by another tells a story.
