Recruiting

So... (asking as a prospective student), what kind of recruiting goes on here? I heard that the BB's are starting to recruit more heavily. I do know that MS hires for quant roles, and Citi for S&T. Any IBD? And what about the respectable boutiques? (I'm abviously asking about FO roles, btw.)

Thanks so much!

BB recruiting barely exists, you will need to do a lot of networking on your own, although there will be a couple of postings on Hiresmith and Career4terps, there will not be any on-campus interview or information session.

BB recruiting does barely exist, but there are a fair number of people hitting BB IBD and S&T this year. In the past few years, we've had people go into GS (S&T +IBD), BAML, MS, C, UBS, Barclays, and a bunch of MM and boutique shops.

Every Maryland alum i've reached out to on the street has been extremely helpful. If you're looking at UG, you should definitely shoot for Senbet fund or Private Equity and VC clinic.

Not involved with it, but I talk to those guys every once and a while.

Not too hard to find them. Linkedin, Finance, Banking and Investment Society, etc. You talk to the kids a year or so older in your class that are going into banking, etc. The business school at UMD is a pretty small community so if you play your cards right networking isn't too difficult.
