Rejected from 3 Final round PE Interviews as well as from the girl I love

Some of the users on this page are incredibly smart and proved to be very helpful in the past, thats why I am seeking advice via this way.

I am currently a second year IBD (TMT) analyst in NYC . However, I failed to jump the ship and make the transition to PE this year. I failed three final round interviews.

I believe that the main reason for this is that, I have been pursuing a girl for a year and really fell in love with her. Six months ago I told her about that , but she told me she only wants to be friends. However, after a bit of a break we still talk and see each other for dinner regularly. We both enjoy it and are still close, but after I see her I always feel horrible . Nevertheless I prefer it this way rather than not having her in my life at all, although it really hurts me to see her. For me its easy to get other good looking girls, but they mean nothing to me and do not make me forget her.

Any advice on how to solve the issue, so I can focus on my career again ?

This chick friend-carded you most likely because you over-pursued her and were needy. Yet, you continue to have a platonic relationship with her, which to her, affirms her assessment that you are, in fact, a weak male...Delete her number asap, work on your skills, and start dating around. Rejection always causes interest-level to skyrocket.

Not trying to be a d-bag, just shooting you straight...yeah you may very well have hooked up with other chicks, but honestly think back - did you behave the same way with all these chicks regardless of your interest level? you admitted you over-pursued this one chick...classic mistake - girl(s) who the guy only has mediocre interest in chases him because he's indifferent to her; guy finds a chick who he thinks is the one and his behavior changes, he chases her, he gets rejected.

Stop talking to that chick and focus on your career. She's bad for you.

And what good does that do you if she doesn't feel the same way? Trust me, whatever you feel now will go away gradually over time.

When a guy tells me that he loves me, I usually think he's coming up way too strong and that's a huge turn off. Most girls don't want to hurt your feels and feel really bad about it so that's why they phrase it gently. Some girls put guys in the friendzone when they like the attention he give them but don't necessarily like him. From my experience, once someone is in the friendzone they are not coming out of the friendzone. I'm assuming you're about 24-25 and she's the same. I can totally be wrong. This is coming from the perceptive of 21 year old girl so my maturity level may not be the same. I'm in a sorority and my friends talk about this all the time. Sometimes a guy could be really cute and really nice but the girl likes another guy more. You sound like you're in phase one of heartbreak where you feel like you will never find someone like her again and she's your one true love. That's totally natural and a lot of people for through that. Once you get over that it will be much easier to move on. Hope you feel better!

Get your balls out of your purse and man the fuck up. Go fuck her best friend.

Best advice yet.

Invite her out to dinner, then pay the hottest chick you know to come interrupt you at dinner and proceed to flirt with her for the remainder of the night and ignore this chick who has your balls in her hand. Works 100% of the time every time.

I already did that with the exact same mindset, then things went crazy and we did not speak for a while, because there were too many emotions.

Then we just started talking again, since we just go along so well. I know I mean a lot to her as well. Its just incredibly complicated.
