Relationships vs career

Based on question you can tell that I am a college student, 20 years old.

I do not have a lot of friends and I am blessed enough to have received a offer from Goldman for SA. My gf wanna break up with me, I love her support and all that but I know that I am not in love with her. She does not want me to take the offer and work in NYC..

What to do, any advice?

She is just selfish and doesn't care. And you are not even in love... Just move on.

So she wants to break up with you if you take the offer and work in NYC? For an internship position? What she really said was that the relationship is not worth 3ish months of hassle. The amount of hassle of you being in NYC for 3 months is greater than the amount of happiness she gets out of the relationship?

Why waste time? Just leave. It's a lot less painful now than it would be to wake up at 40 and realized you were never in love. Extreme example, I know. But people have done that...

If you're not on the same page as your current significant other at age 20, chances are not likely that the two of you will magically align in the near or later future.

Do what's best for you and be honest with her... especially if you know that you're not in love with her.

Even if there were no SA offer, why continue the relationship, particularly when you claim she wants to break up and doesn't like the idea of you working in NYC for a summer?

If you don't love her and there isn't anything driving you to stay, then go to NY. Many more fish in the sea homie, and a lot of them would understand you being gone for 10 weeks for an internship.
