Renting an office for wfh?
Is it a good idea to rent an office (single office) for duration of wfh internship to create a good workzone? Especially with no housing cost

It's a virtual internship. They expect you to be at home, not in a rented office.
I'd say renting an office is excessive and likely to be more of a headache (especially if its not like all utilities etc. are included / spotty internet). I would just up your internet speed (if its not great) and get ethernet to wherever you're going to work. Also maybe invest in a decent office char (sub 300) just to make life / sitting pleasant.
Also if I had an intern who did this, I'd think they were taking it too seriously and that doesn't bode well with me.
Is this a serious question? Good lord.
Unless you live with 12 brothers and sisters or in a frat house....just work from home.
Of course it was serious. Thought it would be a good way to create a more professional enviornment and convey commitment to firm. People really this against it?
The question is not as bad as the MS given would indicate. While interns should save their money for other things and nobody would expect them to rent office space, there are advantages for professionals of any seniority to do this: - exposure to another area of the city, get out of your home - opportunity to use technical equipment you simply don't have (ie better videoconferencing camera/microphone) - networking! many professionals are now in those places who otherwise wouldn't be there; you never know who you run into. I spent a lot of time in WeWork and have met really cool people. Some of our staff are in remote shared offices they are paying on their own (they have wife/kids and they feel like they like this better) - if you are single, it is another way to meet girls - psychologically, some people have a hard time to "work from home". they yre distracted, can't motivate themselves, don't shave, don't dress up, eat too much, etc - for this group it would be beneficial to use a shared office location to stay focused.
Getting a desk at a WeWork isn’t a bad idea. It’s basically plug and play anyway and not super expensive.
Do you guys think team members and ft employees would see it favorably or unfavorably?
I'm sure they'd be neutral about it. Yeah for you personally, you're putting yourself at risk by being around a large number of people, however if you have an actual valid reason such as too many distractions at home that would make it hard to participate or you actually not being able to focus/be productive at all while at home doing so probably wouldn't be frowned upon.
