Research question

I'm trying to figure out some info on real estate from 1996-2009. I need to figure out how real estate funds did (as in average annual return/IRR) or how commercial real estate markets int he US performed, their average annual appreciation or total appreciation. If anyone has any clue where I should start looking, let me know, I'd appreciate it!
