Ridiculous Overstock ads... really

They sell 80K+ watches at 'bargain' prices. I understand the idea behind offering a complete product line to give the consumer a reference point but really? This is borderline insulting to the average customer that would shop Overstock.

Also, the advertisement on WSO just suggested only $1 shipping...on the same 80K watch. Not only are they selling this watch but offering bargain shipping options. Whatever function they use to dig through my search history and ultimately decides to pair a super-luxury watch with bargain shipping options made me laugh out loud.

I always assumed a corporation with the budget of overstock would try a little harder with advertising that at least made sense. Not sure where I'm going with this--just though I would check and see if anyone else had noticed.

Their ads are based either on your browsing history or the subject of the page you are looking at. If you have been looking at something about expensive watches then their algorithm sent you an ad for an expensive watch. You don't even have to be looking at watches, if they can put you in a segment that would want such a watch then you get that kind of advertisement. It is all based on marketing analytics and some companies are better at it than others.
