This is going to shock a lot of you, but I don't watch Parks & Recreation. I just don't have the time. But I know who Ron Swanson is thanks to a treasure trove of YouTube clips and the success of Nick Offerman's book Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man's Fundamentals for Delicious Living. So I was pretty excited to see that Bloomberg TV caught up with Swanson Offerman, and he does not disappoint. Swilling single malt while gnawing on red meat, Offerman delivers like a boss. And in the wake of the news that a Dallas parent is suing a rival high school's football coach for bullying because his son's team got beat 91-0 (I'll cover it in Bonus Bananas), this country needs a lesson in manhood more desperately than ever. There's a guy in my office who looks and acts so much like Ron Swanson. Finally, after being here long enough, I developed the courage to tell him about this similarity. Turned out he neither has any idea who Ron Swanson is, nor does he care.
And that, I firmly believe, is exactly how Ron Swanson would've responded.
Manhood and ego are touchy subjects and I'm beginning to see them like I do politics: people's views more often tend to serve as Rorschach tests more than anything. Suing someone over getting beat in football is pretty lame, but last I checked there's plenty of sex, boozing, gratutitous violence, and shenanigans going on. Overall, I'm guessing America is becomming more 'civilized' in general, but there's still plenty of stuff to do to get the adrenaline pumping

Haha great interview. I saw an interview with him on Letterman and he's so much like him in real life- Nick Offerman was on the cover of Woodworkers magazine or something similar, it was pretty funny.
