For what it's worth, an apple is better at keeping you more alert in the morning than coffee. Since caffeine is a diuretic, it causes an increase in urine volume. This results in faster dehydration and may cause headaches. When pulling multiple - or even one - all-nighters, make sure to drink a lot of water.
