Rugby is a game you have to play! You gain a whole new appreciation for the hits u see guys taking on the field.....

love the free tickets I get from work as well!

Fullback/Fly-half in college. One of the guys interviewing me (2nd round) for a summer analyst position at Morgan Stanley played rugby and I am pretty sure that this is what really separated me from the rest of the pack and secured me the offer. I know that when I'm in the same position I would give a lot of weight to serious rugby players, and I think a lot of people feel the same way. More ex-ruggers in banking than one would think has been my experience.

so I suck, but god, it is a great sport.

If I had time and there was league with people as shitty as me (i.e. so I don't get killed) it would be great.

I was a Flanker.

Not sure about the states but in London the individual ability is high. You have a lot of people who could of went professional (Bear in mind the game only turned pro recently)

If you are interested in playing find a local rugby club they should have junior teams. Also club rugby is more about fitness as it is required you drink beer after each game so most of the players are lard asses who cant run :-)

As an American I learned to play when I did my MBA in Europe. There's a few MBA sports tournaments during the year for the Euro MBA schools.

The LBS team good, and the Oxford team was ridiculous. The Oxford team had a guy from Canada's World Cup team and another guy who played at a high level in Australia.

To play them sucked, consider I'm still trying to figure out what's going on.

Know the feeling - played some american team in "softball" they hammered us :-)

I'll stick to the rugby. It's a great sport though. Shame that it screws your body up when you get old.

This is all very good to know. I'm considering joining the rugby team at CBS and wasn't sure how I would come across if I came to a networking event with a black-eye. I've heard good things though and I definitely look forward to playing it, finally!
