SA housing location question

Hey need some insight if anyone can help with my options for summer housing.

My two options are...

  1. NYCIntern at 34th and 6th

  2. Subrent from a friend in a nice one bedroom in the upper east side manhattan. 104th st and 1st ave

I am working on Broadway right off of times square with MS.

I know the apartment in the upper east side is cheaper but my friend said about a 25 minute commute to the times square area.

NYCIntern I am taking the chance of living with 2 random kids in a big one bedroom apartment.

Not very familiar with the city or commuting in it at all so any help/insight/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
