Salary Reviews

This is just a rant but, anyone else upset with salary reviews this year?

This year I was handed a below inflation pay rise of 7.5% vs c. 10% UK CPI.

My company had a great year, and my team too. In my personal performance review, I was given all round excellent feedback and recognised as a top performer (was promoted last year so that's of the table). However, when it came to pay reviews, my company opted for a classic “due to unprecedented circumstances…” waffle about why they couldn’t match inflation.

From asking around I am getting the impression I am not alone in my eperience?

7.5% is a pretty nice pay raise in this market... think expecting a 10% raise outside of promotion was incredibly unrealistic. Are you also going to let them lower your pay once inflation recedes?
