San Francisco Neighborhoods/Roommates

Hey everyone, not sure if this is the best place to post this but I need some input. I just accepted an offer with a great company in SF, I was hoping to go to either New York or LA but the opportunity is good enough for me to relocate. I don't know much about the city and would appreciate any input that anyone has on where the best places to live are. I'm graduating from college in December and I'm starting work in January and would like to live in a younger neighborhood with commuting options to the financial district and good places to go out closeby, so if anyone knows where the best places to live I'd appreciate any input anyone may have.

If anyone is moving to the city at a similar time and is looking for a roommate, please feel free to PM me or if you know where the best place to find a roommate is please let me know as well. Thanks, everyone.
