Career Resources
If you want a modern high rise with doorman and amenities, South Beach / Rincon Hill is your best bet.
Some of the nicer rental buildings I'd check out: 340 Fremont, 399 Fremont, 500 Folsom, Jasper, Solaire, 33 Tehama. There also units in several condo buildings (Millenium Tower, Lumina, the Harrison) in the area you might be able to rent out.
It's a pretty quiet area - night life is generally on other side of town in North Beach / Marina. SF is pretty small though so it's like a 15 min Uber away. There is a nightclub nearby (Temple) if that's your scene.
You can probably walk to work in Fidi (10-15min) which is nice.

Can't recommend where to live, but can recommend where to avoid. Went there a week for work and stayed in Tenderloin without knowing what I was getting into. Do NOT live there.
