SF People- What are you doing in your free time

Just moved out here and the city seems absolutely dead outside of a few parks which are basically COVID central. What are people in SF doing for fun?

I don't know where you're living, but there's still a fair amount going on right now. Work from home is also making a lot of these tasks easier, as there is more freedom to travel and work.

  • Go hang out on the Marina Green or Fort Mason
  • Go for lunch / dinner on a patio in the Marina / Divisadero
  • Go ride a bike across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito
  • Go hike in Marin / Mount Tam / Skyline Blvd area
  • Go to Point Reyes for oysters
  • Travel to Stanford and tour the campus, it's pretty gorgeous
  • Go play a round of golf
  • Rent a car and drive to Santa Cruz (Skyline Blvd. on the way down, Pacific Coast Highway on the way back up
  • Travel to Tahoe, rent a boat and wakeboard / water ski

Lots of things to be done in the great outdoors right now!

Great list. Lots of hikes. The zoo opened up so take my kids there (you need to reserve a ticket in advanced). Drove the family to Bodega Bay (similar time the Point Reyes recommendation). Rented a house with a pool. I eat well (wifey got all into cooking extravagant meals - last night was seafood cioppino). I like to order takeout and help the small businesses/restaurants. Tough environment. SF really is a small business retail town and this pandemic will gut out a lot of what makes SF special - the retail streets, for example.

The one real hobby I had which was college football (Hawaii Rainbow Warriors) and traveling to road games is no longer there with the season canceled.

Work, eat, sleep, repeat

Controversial

Personally I'm a big fan of hunting homeless, the stock this year is top of the line and has some extra meat on their bones after the state gov had them housed and fed during the initial outbreak. Virus already culled the weak ones so only the best bucks are left. They'll make you work for it, but if you just toss a few H baggies around the tenderloin you can get yourself a nice bait n' wait. Gotta stock up the freezer for when these grocery stores inevitably close because of all the looting.

That + I started a cameo. There's a surprising number of well paid Software Dev clientele who like to see hairy painted feet with a Darth Vader voice over and who am I to deny the people what they want?
