I am extremely conflicted as the two girls had planned the stabbing for months, yet they are so young and one clearly has schizophrenia and Wisconsin is one of less than 15 states that allows juveniles to be interviewed without an attorney, shackled in court, and can charge those under 16 as adults.

Should 12 year-olds be charged as adults and be given 40+ year sentences

I personally think young criminals should be actively rehabilitated. Of course there are unique circumstances and not every case is the same, but children are not adults and consideration should reflect this.
