Should I live with another analyst?

We'll both be in the same rotational analyst program. I'll have to start looking for housing soon, and we've very briefly and vaguely mentioned the possibility of living together. Here are my thoughts so far:

Pros (listed from most to least important):

  • I like the guy. We've hung out/drank a couple times during the intern events, and he's a nice dude.

  • Cheaper rent. Though I could afford a studio or 1BR.

  • We could talk to/complain to/help/joke with each other about work-related things

Cons (listed from most to least important):

  • Even though he's a good guy, I think living, commuting, and working with the same person day in and day out could start to get old pretty quick.

  • A part of me wants to live by myself and have my own place.

  • Possible competitive tensions from work. I.e. one of us works later than the other, one of us starts performing better than the other, etc. I don't mind a competitive atmosphere at all, but living together could make it unnecessarily rivalrous.

Thoughts? I don't really think this is that big of deal nor a big decision to make, but for some reason when I start to actually think about it, I always end up torn between the two.
