Spending Christmas and NewYears alone in the office
Traveled to a foreign country to work at a huge fund. It's Christmas and everyone I work with is with their families, yet I'm still spreading comps and searching for nonexistent market data.
This city is known for its swindlers and conartists, but I don't know anybody here and I barely speak the local language. I wish I had the money to ball out and go to the bars but I'm on a really tight budget.
My cubicle has one of the best views of the city. I guess i'll treat myself to nicer take-out and just appreciate I even got the opportunity to be working here.

Spending time with family and friends is vastly overrated. I hope you realize that you're in a really commendable position whereby personal relations is undoubtedly secondary and also you certainly don't have to be making a killing to have a good time on a budget.
