Sports in 100 years?

Comparing sports now to how they were nearly 100 years ago is truly laughable and now that it feels like we're in the future and sports are at their peak popularity, what's next? How do you think we're going to look at ourselves in 100 years? Better yet, I'm curious how sports will evolve...

Probably sounds like a total high-dea but it's nearly 4:30pm and work is several hours from ctrl+l so this is where my mind has wandered off to. :)

As society is becoming more and more spectator (and less participation), I'd say in 100 years, we'll relegate all the physical players to 3rd world countries, pay them next to nothing (in Western standards), and watch and/or bet on the outcome from the comforts of our couch.

Bread and circuses.

At this point, I would be surprised if we're still a functional global civilization in a century. Everyone just wants their breads and circus just like the Romans. We know how that turned out.
