I have the opportunity to join a start-up PE fund, which would target mostly middle market companies within two specific sectors. Has anyone ever joined a start-up PE fund? What should I expect/negotiate for in terms of pay etc. at the Director level?

Is the sector different than what you're covering now, which is the reason for the move? Or just a title promotion?
Also, do you like the people who are starting that shop? If so, hopefully that eliminates some of the interpersonal concerns right?
