I’ve garnered a particular interest in strategy consultancy after a capstone course I took this Spring. Additionally, I’d like to start my own company one day and I feel like strategy roles can really help me establish a solid business model.
I’m a non-target MBA student; how can I land an internship at consulting firm?
What's your GPA, year, school, and major? Other leadership & involvement? Past internships?
In general:
As a non-target student, you're almost certainly going to need referrals, so you'll need to network
Get good internships where you can make an impact, if you have access to finance/analytics/engineering/investment banking/marketing internships from well known companies through your school that'd be great
Build a resume of good leadership experiences and impacts that can be generally bulleted and described through the STAR format
Have a high GPA
