Struggling to understand gratuity calculations in the UAE

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to wrap my head around how gratuity is calculated in the UAE. I know it depends on things like basic salary, type of contract (limited vs unlimited), and whether it’s a resignation or termination. But in practice, the formulas can get pretty confusing — especially when partial entitlements apply.

I came across this online gratuity calculator UAE which seems to simplify the process quite a bit. Has anyone here used something similar, and did it match what HR actually paid you at the end of service?
