Suggestions in Utah

Thinking about crossing Utah off the bucket list by visiting a few national parks there and maybe SLC. Any "must do's" given a limited timetable? What about SLC? I don't know all the drinking rules or the whole way of life among Mormons (sorry for ignorance). Any insight?

I went to high school in/return home from college to the SLC area. Your top three must-do's are Zion, Zion, and Zion. Awesome park, be sure to hit Angel's Landing. Also been to Arches, Moab, and Kanab which are also worth the trip. Haven't been to Canyonlands, but I've heard amazing things. Drinking rules shouldn't affect you too much in SLC, the main thing is that with a few exceptions, alcohol over a certain limit isn't available in grocery stores so you have to go to the state liquor store to get just about anything above beer. You should be fine at most restaurants, though fewer of them serve drinks relative to other cities because they're more strict about handing out liquor licenses. The city itself is pretty cool if you know where to go, it's definitely on the up. Good restaurants include The Park Cafe, The Tin Angel, and Taqueria27. There are plenty more, but those are good for starters and all reasonably priced. City Creek is a nice, relatively new outdoor mall. Worth checking out. Also, check out Park City if you get the chance. High West is a great restaurant/distillery up there. Plenty of good hiking trails all around SLC and Park City. Hope this helps, and feel free to PM me with any questions. Have a good trip!
