Planning a summer trip with friends for July. We've looked at Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy. Several of my friends are brokies though, so even if the trip itself isn't too bad, the flight costs blow it up for them.
There's a round trip flight to Malta in July for $799. Anyone spent a week in Malta and enjoy it? Is that way too many days to spend there? Looking for recs. Want nice beaches, a going out scene, fun downtown/city area with good food. Things to do outside, etc.
Never been, but make sure your less endowed friends compare prices of flying to Malta vs. flying to the major European cities. Sometimes the more obscure you go, the more airfare murders you, even if you save on the hotel. Kind of a balancing act.
