Switching Off After Work

It's hard for me to switch off after work. Even when I'm out of the office, I find myself instinctively checking the bloomberg app and reading articles. This happens on weekdays and weekends. I can't seem to stop worrying about getting ahead in my career. It's gotten to the point where it's affecting my hobbies and social life. Do you guys have any tips how I can get past this mental block so I can relax and enjoy life?

Just go with it. If you want to check Bloomberg or something, do it.

Sometimes a healthy obsession sets you apart.

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

Instead of Bloomberg, pick up a book with some coffee or listen to a podcast while going for a walk. It helps to change the medium and setting, and to consume content perhaps related but not necessarily attached to the markets. That way you'll still be "productive" but will also broaden your perspective and get to unwind a little.

Try some new things and find what you like. I think when you find more somethings that you enjoy doing outside of school that you’ll be able to turn off the work stuff more easily

THINGS TO RELAX WITH: - Alcohol (namely Tawny Port or brandy) - Books (I recommend an assorted collection of classical novelists) - Music (Jazz or Classic) - ALL THREE TOGETHER YEEHAW - Drugs (self-explanatory)
