Text from computer for free?
Anyone know of a free way for Androids to text from a desktop? I was using some trial but it expired and I don't want to pay. Thanks

I know that Kik and other similar texting apps often have PC versions, but will require that you download some software.

Will people see it coming from my number? And will I have access to all my contacts?
Honestly, I am not sure. It could likely vary from carrier to carrier. I have only a couple of friends that text from their computer to my phone and the texts come to me under the names I have them listed under in my contacts. I think a person would have to click on the hyper link of your name to see that it was sent from a phone number and not from an email address. Best suggestion I can make is have your wife or a friend send you a tester message or two and for you to do the same back before you decide.
