The $250,000 Stock
Warren Buffett has never split the class A shares of Berkshire Hathaway and don't count on him doing it any time soon. The stock is now over $250,000 a share and thats up over 3 million percent... not bad returns.
Three Reasons Why Warren Buffett Never Split Berkshire’s $250,000 Stock
Over the years, more executives have come to see things the way Mr. Buffett does. From 2008 through 2016, only 11 S&P 500 companies, on average, split their stocks each year, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices, with just 7 doing it last year. By comparison, in the 1990s, an average of 64 companies in the S&P 500 split their stocks each year. In 1997, there were 102 total stock splits.
Overall it makes no difference, and Buffett has gone out of his way to make sure people still have access to class B shares which have been split.
