Flake introduced me to this, undoubtedly one of the best 'classic trance' (late 90s/ early 00s) songs I've heard:
Stream to 2:40.
i initially turned my nose up at Trance in 2012, but then I listened and was like "ahhhhh, beats dont drop like this anymore!"
Darude - Sandstorm. I know its trite to pick that one, and kind of obvious, but it is a good song.
That's not trance.
first one was decent
@macro - that song is fucking perfect. I love classic trance, epic trance.
You're welcome. That's my taste too.
French House is better than trance nine times out of ten. I find so much of the "good" trance to be overly simplistic and repetitive.
NOTHING that begins with the word "French" is better
Daft Punk (french house), remixed. House music is one of the few things the French do well.
Michael Calfan - Resurrection: http://grooveshark.com/s/Resurrection+Axwell+s+Recut+Club+Version/4jk4J… Kaskade - Turn It Down (Le Castle Vania remix): http://grooveshark.com/s/Turn+It+Down+Le+Castle+Vania+Remix/4h6aZ6?src=5 Michael Woods - Last Day on Earth: http://grooveshark.com/s/Last+Day+On+Earth+Original+Mix/4iPqUw?src=5
Not strictly trance, but just a couple on my current playlist. Can suggest more if you like.
boring. progressive house is where it's at.
Oceanlab: Sirens of the Sea
is OP's post even "trance?" Sounds more like Electro-House/"Trouse" to me.
Macro: Great song.
-Spoiled & Zigo - More & More
-BT and Paul Van Dyk - Flaming June http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wJDIssLOkk
Old Tiesto - Suburban Train, Silence, heck, even his remix of "He's a Pirate" are worthy mentions.
Pendulum - The island
009 sound system - dreamscape (kind of becoming the modern rick roll but still good for if you're in the trance zone)
Eyes- Kaskade

some gold right there sir. Definitely not trance in the pure sense, but heavenly anyway.Yeah it's not trance at all but a total banger nonetheless. The only way to listen to it is with volume on full blast which is how I heard it the first time. If any of you are too impatient for the buildup then skip to 2:20.
I highly recommend afrojack but this is his best IMO
Solarstone - Solarcoaster (Airbase Remix)
My undisputed favorites:
Chicane - Saltwater
Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar (Three 'n One Mix)

Humate - Love Simulation (PvD Remix)
Nalin & Kane - Beachball

Future Sound of London - Papua New Guinea
None of these are explicitly trance but still all good:

This isn't trance (well a lot of this shit isn't really). I just like this one a lot:

For shits and giggles:
My favorite video/song of all time. Fast forward to 3:10.

Few of my favoritetrance songs are:
Tiesto- Silence and Adagio for Strings
Yea, I like some of his newer stuff, but it doesn't quite seem to match up to his work at the start of his career
