The Fab Five

Did anybody watch the documentary on ESPN about the Fab Five? It was one of the most moving pieces of television I've seen in a good while. Those guys reshaped the basketball landscape as people knew it.

Yeah man just finished watching it. Thought it was great and have really enjoyed all of the 30 for 30s. Thought it was telling that they spent like 15 minutes on Chris Webber and said he refused to speak. Not so sure on it being moving though. Thought it described the team and while I knew all about the timeout and losing to Duke and UNC I thought it was just informative.

Check out Muhammad Ali's for moving. That shit was depressing.

Reggie Miller, SMU football and Miami Football were great also.

Well, yeah, I see where you're coming from, but I personally never saw that footage of Chris Webber just swearing at the camera after losing in their first national championship game and even worse, after that infamous timeout call in the 2nd championship game, how he just walked back through the tunnel with his head hung low. Definitely struck a chord with me.

That said, Jalen Rose was funny throughout the whole thing. His shit-talk about Christian Laettner was pretty amusing and so was calling OSU the Ohio State Fuckeyes.

Was good. Would have liked to see more plot development for the UNC title game and buildup to that moment as I remember watching it live when I was young, but I don't remember how or why Mich wound up in a 2 point hole at that time But, overall, pretty good doc.

The whole series is pretty sick. I still think the Reggie Miller one was the best though; it had so many elements in it. Particularly his sister being better than him which was pretty funny.
