The Seattle Seahawks are the greatest team to ever play in the NFL

I never though I'd say it. I can't believe I'm typing these words. I can't believe I'm typing these words with 14 minutes left in the 4th quarter. How much better are the Seahawks than the Broncos? Enough that I'm willing to admit defeat even though it "ain't over til it's over" as Yogi Bera so eloquently put it.

Did the Broncos make a Super Bowl-worthy effort? Nope. But that shouldn't detract from Seattle's win. They took advantage of every fuck-up. They forced enough Broncos fuck-ups to have won the game even if the Broncos hadn't screwed up every damn opportunity they had. Hell, even if the Broncos hadn't turned the ball over way too many god damn times for a professional fucking football team they still would've shit on us. Would it have been closer? Yep, but the hawks would have won.

I take solace in knowing that we lost to the greatest team in football, the Seattle Seahawks. I can't honestly think of any one team that could handle them the way they played tonight. Congratulations @"AndyLouis", your team deserves that trophy.

PS- the only thing that hurts more than writing this is have to write it twice because your computer dies before you post it. Looks like the Broncos aren't the only ones fucking up tonight.

As a Hawks fan I was feeling pretty confident about this game, but this has surpassed even my most optimistic expectations. I haven't watched football long enough to compare this team with the famous 49ers/Cowboys/Steelers teams so I wouldn't call them the greatest ever, but this has been one heck of a ride. And to think that if not for a few lucky plays in the Tampa Bay and Houston games, SF gets home field advantage and the Seahawks might not even play in this game.

Best team ever? I dont think its ever possible to know. But this was one of the nastiest defenses I've seen.

Badass team. Love Pete. There are many more badass teams of each era. If they roll up two more like the Niners, Cowboys, and Patriots have then they can discuss this.

Yea probably not the best of all time, definitely the best this year (obviously)

Probably the 20th time I've seen that tonight. It doesn't get easier to watch

This and the 49ers of Super Bowl XXIV

I would say they can definitely be considered a top 10 team of all time.

I wounder what the madden stats will look like. I would like to see how they stack up against the other NFL all time great defenses. On a less serious note, the web was really slow last night. There must be a lot of sad broncos.

Great call on the 1989 49ers, but to me they aren't as good as the 1992 Cowboys who I think are the best team ever (which kills me to say since I'm a diehard Eagles fan). My official all-time rankings, BC WSO loves rankings:

1) 1992 Cowboys 2) 1985 Bears 3) 1994 49ers 4) 1989 49ers 5) 1972 Dolphins 6) 1999 Rams 7) 1979 Steelers 8) 1998 Broncos 9) 2013 Seahawks 10) 1991 Redskins

Pretty interesting to think that the teams from the NFC West were the bottom-feeders of the NFL just a handful of seasons ago (well, St. Louis is still in the shitter)...
