This site is making fake notifications
I see "+1 silver bananas here" on my chrome notifications, and I click it, and it leads to a popular thread that I never even posted in. Is this some sort of trick to get more page traffic?

Definitely no, that's some kind of a bug but right now we can't find a way to reproduce that.
Does it still happen to you from time to time? Or it was 1-time thing? Can you send the exact URL where notification points you to?
It happens to me from time to time.
This happened to me too, except it was monkey poo.

Every false notification I have received appears to correlate to anonymous posts by other users.
