Tinnitus? Remedies?
I can't remember when exactly it started happening to me, but over the past month it's been very audible in my right ear. Does anyone else have this issue? It seems to be present 75% of the time and is obviously annoying.
For context, I've always been very conscious of loud noises. I was in a pseudo-band that played twice a week during highschool, and our monitors were kind of loud but nothing obscene. I've also been cutting back on using my AirPod Pros (in ear versus open ear) as I feel like the seal that's made with the Pros seem to make it worse. Maybe the bluetooth is what's caused it lol. So I've been playing music softly through regular speakers at my WFH desk.
Some people online say it can be stress or caffeine induced. I really only have like 80mgs of caffeine a day, usually right after lunch, and havent really been stressed over the past month.
Any remedies out there that's helped you?
Mag dump a battle rifle chambered in 7.62 NATO inside an enclosed space. Make sure you don't wear hearing protection. A rifle with a muzzle brake is preferable.
You won't have to worry about your hearing ever again.
Lol this might by partially the reason why I have this issue to begin with..
Kidding I always have ears on when I shoot
Different doctors have different methods for addressing this. Some say losing weight is helping, for others it is about their blood pressure.
I'd check with your doctor before it gets much worse. Tinnitus is nothing to joke about, the Texas roadhouse CEO recently committed suicide, one reason was extreme tinnitus after surviving Covid19.
Damn I did not know about the CEO, very sad to hear.
I am healthy and am inline for my height and weight, so that isnt an issue. I did do a quick blood pressure test a few weeks ago and it was a bit higher than normal. Will check in with doctor next time I visit, thanks!
Also.. I did have covid in mid Feb.. maybe that might be a partial cause....
I don't want you to get more worried than necessary. But Covid19 apparently has a variety of long-term effects in people that haven't been studied yet. Tinnitus is one of them and google initially returns more than 17M results regarding this.
Again, nothing to worry too much about. But I would address it with your physician if the symptoms came in during/after Covid.
.
nah getting solid 7 hours of sleep every night. maybe thats not enough for me though. in college i had less and didnt really have issues
When I was 20, I went to see a famous DJ in a club that had a fantastic sound system. The DJ really cranked up the volume to a surreal level, if was not possible to hear if someone screamed in your ear, the only way to communicate was to lip read and I guess no one at the guts to tell the DJ to crank it down. Among my group of friend, about half of us got some damage and for me, it resulted in lifelong tinnitus unfortunately. If it's caused by loud sound, there usually nothing you can do, although it does get better with time. It was hard to fall asleep initially, I have to have some background noise on (music generally or the tv), but you do get use to it and I hardly notice it anymore. I am more carefull about loud noise exposure though, I have carry earplugs with me if I go to a concert. Note that weirdly, my hearing ability as not been affected
Damn sorry to hear about that. When I went to a Steve Aoki concert (he was actually pretty good) I had pretty dense ear plugs in, and tbh it didnt affect the experience at all. Highly recommend people do that when they are at concerts, especially if they're near the speakers
I’ve always had the super faint tinnitus for as long as I can remember.. but it started to get REALLY noticeable and bad in March 2020.. along with my hair line receding. Not sure if because I got covid and didn’t know it, or stress from WFH and life during pandemic, or what.. but, it sucks, it’s not getting better, and I don’t have answers
Wish I could help with the hairline, instead ill toss you a sb
Bump
Saw this video on YouTube for tinnitus relief couldn't find it but it worked for me and I'll try describing it to the best of my ability
Rest your palms on the back of your head as if you were to do sit ups and place your fingers over the soft part of your skull - above the brain stem area
Place your index finger over your middle finger and do the thumping flick onto that area with both your hands
Do it for about 30seconds and your tinnitus will go away
If it isn't apparent at first do it again, had terrible tinnitus but now it's gone for good
Hopefully I explained it well enough and hope it works for you
Best of luck
