Too many college football bowl games?

This year, there will be 20 teams with losing records playing in bowl games. This makes me think that are too many bowl games. I thought that bowl games were supposed to be rewards for teams who had great seasons, apparently not anymore as 20 teams with losing records and teams with winning records who got some of their wins against 1AA teams. Here is the link

Also here is the bowl schedule Interested to get your take on this as well as hear about how your teams' season went.

I get what you're saying from the school's point of view, they make a lot of money from bowl games. However, a lot of the sponsors of the games, especially the ones that have losing teams playing in them will have a hard time breaking even even with the TV revenue. I mean, who is really going to see Old Dominion play Eastern Michigan in the Bahamas Bowl?

Yeah, it's a shame how diluted the bowls have become. I was looking at tickets to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, which is not even a college playoff bowl, and secondary market prices were so ridiculous. The game has 2 pretty iconic programs, but still it means nothing really in the big scheme, haha.

Maybe over time the college playoff will take away people's interest in the non-meaningful bowls. I think they should consider expanding it to 8 teams and then the other games would be a total after thought.
